MSST
The purpose of Manufacturing Standards and Specifications for Textbooks is to outline appropriate physical standards for printed instructional materials for elementary and secondary schools, mainly textbooks both hard and softcover.
These standards and specifications are intended as a guide to aid the manufacturer, the publisher, the textbook administrator, and the general public. These standards and specifications in no way preclude anyone, whether he or she has approved the standard or specification or not, from manufacturing, marketing, purchasing, or using products, processes, or procedures not conforming to the standard or specification.
