BMI Rising Star Award
BMI is opening nominations for the Rising Star Award Program. The awards will be given out at the 2024 Spring Management Conference in Arlington, VA. Nominations close on 3/22/24 at 5pm ET.
Purpose of the Program
BMI would like to recognize book industry professionals who may not be long standing industry veterans, but are making a positive impact on their companies, in their communities and in the industry.
Selection Criteria
BMI has opened a Call for Nominations. Any industry professional may nominate someone, including themselves. Winners must be employees of BMI member companies as of the close of the nomination process.
The BMI Awards Committee will choose winners from the pool of qualified nominees. Award recipients will be chosen based on:
- Sustained excellent job performance
- Contributions to their company, community and/or industry
- Continued training/education/learning within the industry
- Demonstration of exemplary customer service, community service and/or industry service

Eligibility
Nominees must 39 years old or younger as of the nomination closing date. Nominees must also be current employee of a current BMI member as of the nomination closing date. Both Active and Associate Members are eligible. Only one nomination per employee is needed. Multiple nominations will not affect the review process.
Selection Process
The BMI Awards Committee will convene after the nomination period closes to review all nominations and decide on the award recipients. Only information contained within the nomination package will be considered during the review process. The Committee does reserve the right to reach back out to the nominator to obtain clarifying information if need be, but will not ask for additional information.
Winners and Communication
Finalists will be notified as soon as the Awards Committee has made their determination. All finalists will be invited to attend the Awards Presentation that will take place at the Spring Management Conference. Finalists will receive a special discounted registration to the Spring Management Conference to help promote their attendance at the Awards Ceremony. All Winners will be given a complimentary registration to the following year’s Management Conference.
